Melanie Ferster Counselling

Melanie Ferster, MC, RCC, CCC, RSW

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellor, (CCC), and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with experience supporting children, youth, adults, and couples through a variety of life challenges. I am currently completing my PhD in Humanistic Psychology, with a focus on nature-based healing, resilience, creativity, and well-being.

My approach is humanistic, attachment-informed, and trauma-sensitive. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and that a safe, empathetic relationship creates the foundation for growth and healing. Depending on client needs, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR (including with children), CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Play and Art-based Therapy.

I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, relationship and parenting challenges, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, and behavioural concerns in children. I also integrate eco- and horticultural therapy practices for clients interested in connecting their healing journey with nature.

I offer both in-person sessions in Invermere, BC and online counselling throughout British Columbia.
